I am a firm believer in form following function when it comes to furniture. I prefer to view furniture as art. The bottom line in my thinking is that if a chair doesn’t work as a chair in function, strength, and comfort, then it is not a chair. I believe that simplicity is the best way to express that function, without the superfluous additions of cluttering and confusing details. Simple forms, simple lines, simple details. However, there is a place for intricate detail, it is all a matter of personal taste. It is possible to take elements of one style and combine with another if done carefully.

Thoughtfulness of design, excellence of materials, strength of construction, and proper use of joinery work together to make a product of the highest caliber, with timeless appearance and heirloom quality.
